About the Course
TravelCare and the University of Southern California (USC) offer the country's premier continuing education program in International Travel Medicine. This ACPE-accredited online course has been designed to assist pharmacists and other medical professionals in expanding their knowledge and skills related to improving care provided to patients traveling internationally (international travelers). When used in conjunction with TravelCare's decision support software, this online training course empowers medical professionals to add value to their customers and patients by delivering best in class travel health and safety advice.
Credit- Pharmacists earn 15 hours of continuing education credit. The ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) have developed a continuing pharmacy education (CPE) tracking service, CPE Monitor®, that authenticates and stores data for completed CPE units received by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from ACPE-accredited providers. NABP members consist of the 50 United States state boards of pharmacy, as well as the boards in District of Columbia, 10 Canadian provinces, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and The Bahamas.

- Outline essential counseling points for travelers with respect to personal safety, security, injury prevention, and crime avoidance
- Determine the need for treatment and/or referral for a returned traveler based on travel history, presentation, disease characteristics
- Describe collaborative practice regulations regarding travel health services within pharmacist scope of practice in your state
- Create a plan for implementing a practice in travel medicine including protocol, policy & procedures, and methods of compensation
